What is SCRIP?
SCRIP is just another way to pay for everyday purchases using gift cards in place of cash, checks, and credit cards. SCRIP is a no-selling program that allows families to raise money for their school and tuition. You purchase gift cards from St. John’s at face value, and the coordinator orders those cards from Great Lakes SCRIP Center at a reduced price. This credit typically averages 3-5%. Credits are split: families earning 75% and school earning 25%. The credits add up on an account throughout the year, and then the entire sum becomes a tuition credit for next year's tuition (St. John’s, Bishop Luers, Bishop Dwenger, and several colleges), or it can donated as a general donation to the parish or school.
