Assignments for 8/18/21

Reading: Please listen to the story of the week. 
Math:  Play 15 minutes of Math Fact Monster. Please play addition level 2.
Spelling: Practice your spelling words. Please make sure you have completed your 3x's each.
Religion: What is something beautiful you think God created? Draw and color a picture of it. Write 5 complete sentences describing your picture.

Dr. Seuss Week/ First Communion Meeting

Good afternoon! I wanted to give you some updates for next week. The second grade will be celebrating Dr. Seuss! We will be doing special things for reading each day. On Monday the 1st there is a parent/student First Communion meeting at 6:30. Hope to see you there! 

Work for 2/18

Below you will find the work for today. If you have any questions please let me know! Stay warm!
Reading: Listen to chapter 8 of Monday with a Mad Genius. Chapter 8 begins at about 18 minutes in.
Spelling: Put your words in ABC order.
Math:   Pick 5 objects to measure with a ruler. On a piece of paper do your best to draw the objects and record the length in inches.
Religion:  Watch the second First Communion video. Say a prayer then for someone who really needs it.

Work for 2/16

Hello! I hope you are all staying safe! Below you will find the work for Tuesday. If you have any questions please email me! 
               We have already read chapter 6 in our book. Please listen to chapters 6 and 7 only. Chapter 7 will start at about 10 minutes in. We will discuss the chapters when we return.
             Write down your spelling words and complete rainbow spelling.
palace, squeezed, panic, fountain, fortress, kindling, wooden, horseshoe, notebook ,fluttering, apprentice, vanished, nightingale, mysteries, snarling, blazing.
               Play a couple rounds of these two measurement games.
Our class has the readings for Ash Wednesday. Theo, Ruxin, and Emilee please practice your readings! :)   We will go over them first thing Wednesday morning. 
We are going to put  Alleluia away for Lent. You need to write Alleluia on a nice piece of paper. In your best coloring, decorate your paper. We will put them away together at school.

100's Day!!

I can not believe we have almost made it to 100 days in school!! Students will be bringing home a note this week about their 100's Day poster. Posters will be due January 19th, and we will celebrate on January 22nd. This week we welcomed a new student! Please welcome Emilee to our class! 

First Reconciliation

Reconciliation is this Wednesday at 6:30. The kids have worked really hard and are ready! See you there!

First Reconciliation parent and student meeting tomorrow 11/2 at 6:30. The students have been working hard! 

Just a reminder to put November 2nd on your calendar for our parent meeting. It will be at 6:30 in the church. Report cards will be coming home this week. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to me. We made it through first quarter!!:)

I hope that everyone has a wonderful long weekend! I am so excited that we have made it 40 days in the classroom! Next week we will be doing a unit on Johnny Appleseed. I know that we did not do parent / teacher conferences, if you have any questions or concerns please reach out.

Things are moving right along in second grade! They are working hard! Just a reminder that there is a Reconciliation parent meeting on September 21st at 6:30. See you there!

Our First Week!

We had a great week in second grade! It was so good to finally get to see everyone! This week we will be starting our first story in our reader. We will also have our first spelling list. They will take tests over the story and spelling words on Friday. Please look for written homework on Wednesday. They will start writing their spelling words three times each. I will post their spelling words for the week on here as well as in their spelling notebook.
